The actual item turned out to be okay, but the package came smashed up and the directions in the box look like they have been used well. This was supposed to be a new item. The speed of delivery was impressive, but I am not happy with the condition of the package. Terra cotta is the best containers for cooking juicy, tender foods. This terra cotta roaster is no exception. The garlic comes out soft, moist and not over done, as long as the instructions are followed. The secret is soaking the lid in water...DO NOT overlook this step.
This is the only kind of roaster I will buy and I highly recommend it for connisseurs (sp?) of foods well done!

I have owned one of these roasters for years, and recently purchased one for my daughter. It's compact size leaves plenty of room in the oven (or microwave!) for other things, and I have been able to roast two bulbs at a time, provided the bulbs are not too large. It's simple to use and easy to clean: well worth the small price.
