I feel that a spice grinder is a "must have" tool for the kitchen and this one does an excellent job grinding all my spices to the desired consistancy. It does as good of a job as an electric grinder or more expensive grinder. I am very happy with the two grinders that I own (salt and pepper) and plan to buy another just for spices. I've owned the first one for 7 years and it's just like new...very happy with the quality, also.
