I am finding this product to be very functional. The mouth is large enough to stick your fingers in to pinch salt and to accommodate measuring spoons, (even tablespoon size) so that you can, with one hand, scoop up and shake to level off the amount you need. Also the clear, totally removable, cover makes a good seal, and if you don't want to put your fingers in, you can pour a small amount into it and pinch from there without contaminating the rest of the salt.
The only change I would make would be to eliminate the shaker holes. It's not a big problem, but with it sitting by my cooktop where there is steam rising from my pots, it does allow some moisture to enter.
AND, to be totally picky, I'd like some color choices. It is the only white thing in my kitchen.
